Born in Ann Arbor, near Detroit, Michigan, Charles Trees’ music is both hypotonic and mechanical, between Instrumental Hip Hop and Electronica. Following the alternative musical path opened by Prefuse 73, Charles’ production genre is close to those of Dabrye and Bullion. The young Motor City-affiliated producer proves the large extent of his talents through 4 entrancing and highly melodic tracks. Inspired by Vangelis look-alike ‘80s tones, he stands out by showing real synthesizer skills that enable him to definitely instill emotion in each of his compositions.
Teaming up with his fellow Shigheto (Ghostly Int.) for an epic collaboration, and cleverly remixed by the duet Baron Retif & Concepción Pérez, Charles Trees establishes himself with The Dream EP as a worth watching artist in the years to come.
